Arresting Delhi Law Minister is a bad case in politics

Delhi Law Minister arrested for declaration of fake degree. Yes, giving a false declaration is an offence. But one has to see this in Indian perspective. In India having a degree is not an eligible criterion  to contest in elections.  Even then many candidates declare fake degrees to improve their profile among the voters. If one applies for an Engineer's job without an Engineering degree, then the offence become greater as having a degree is a basic requirement for that post.  This is not the case in politics.

Therefore, a number of candidates give fake degrees, fake declaration about marriage (example: Modi himself), under declare their income to project themselves as honest and not after money.  If the law is applied purely based on the affidavit given in the election form more than 80% of our elected members including our PM will be behind bars.

Coming to the present case, tomorrow if the Court declares that Mr. Tomar degree is indeed fake he may resign as Minister on moral grounds and may still continue as an MLA.

That is the reason, BJP has taken a bad case and inadvertently increased the profile of Arvind Kejriwal in national politics.  May be he will thank Modi for this sometime in the future.
